Automated Garbage Pick-up
On Tuesday September 13th 2011 the Town of Cicero will begin automated garbage pick-up. Please do not use this can until September 13th 2011. After this date all garbage must be in this container for pick-up. Any other cans or bags of garbage will not be picked up. There will be NO change to recycling pick-up, continue to put out your recycling as you have in the past.
There will be no change in garbage pick-up cost for using this container the cost will be the same as in the past $119.00 per year (on tax bill). If you would like an additional can you may request one, you will be charged the annual refuse collection fee of $119.00 per can. The Town of Cicero has purchased these USED cans from another municipality to keep the start-up cost of going automated to a minimum. All cans will be replaced with new cans over the next several years. When cans are replaced with new ones they will be a larger 95 gallon container. If you have problems with your can,(broken wheel or cover, broken can, ect.) call (920-833-7527) it will be repaired or replaced at no cost to you.
Here are the guidelines for using your automated garbage container:
* Garbage container must be out at road before 6:00 A.M. on collection day
* Place garbage can a minimum of 4 feet from recycling.
* Can must be placed at least 4 feet from other objects. (mail box, sign, ect.)
* Place can with handle side facing away from road.
* Do not place can in road way, place in driveway or on shoulder of road.
* Do not put heavy objects in this can. (house hold waste only)
* Do not put hazardous or illegal items in this can.
* Do not put hot items in this can.
